Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Baler Machine Operator to join our production team at our Temple, Texas location. This critical role involves operating and maintaining industrial baler machines to process and compress corrugated materials and other recyclables, ensuring efficient waste management and material handling. The Industrial Baler Machine Operator will work closely with production teams to maintain a steady workflow, perform routine equipment maintenance, and uphold safety and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Successful candidates will demonstrate mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Operation: Operate industrial baler machines to compress corrugated materials, cardboard, and other recyclables into bales according to production specifications.
  • Material Handling: Load materials into the baler, ensuring proper alignment and safe handling to prevent equipment jams or damage.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, cleaning, and minor maintenance on baler machines to ensure optimal performance and report any issues to maintenance staff.
  • Production Support: Collaborate with production teams to manage material flow, prevent bottlenecks, and maintain efficient operations.
  • Quality Control: Inspect bales for proper compression and quality, ensuring they meet company standards for recycling or disposal.
  • Workplace Maintenance: Keep the work area clean and organized to promote safety and operational efficiency.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all workplace safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and lockout/tagout procedures, to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Recordkeeping: Log production data, such as bale counts and machine performance, to support operational reporting.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Technical Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with operating industrial machinery; experience with baler machines or similar equipment is preferred.
  • Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties.

Salary: $14.75 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

• Day shift

• Monday to Friday

• Overtime

• Weekend availability

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Reliability: Strong punctuality and consistent attendance to maintain production schedules.
  • Experience: 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal communication skills to interact effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Basic Math Skills: Ability to perform measurements and basic calculations for accurate production and reporting.
  • Work Environment: Comfortable working in noisy environments, around heavy machinery, and in variable conditions.
