Genesis10 is seeking a Software Tester I for a 6-month contract position with our healthcare services client. The position will be fully remote.
Compensation: $35.00 - 40.00 per hour (W-2).
Job Description:
This role delivers software quality assurance services across multiple projects and systems. You'll document and execute manual test cases supporting a variety of vended web and mobile applications used in the provider and patient space.
Key Responsibilities:- Define, perform, and document product validation for new and enhanced applications.
- Investigate operational and process issues in partnership with engineering and technical teams.
- Maintain quality records, metrics, and status reports; provide guidance to junior team members on quality control procedures.
- Create and apply quality controls for both in-house and vended products.
- Support quality reviews under the direction of project leadership or senior QA staff.
- Maintain test libraries and scripts within test management tools (e.g., Quality Center).
- Cross-analyze software development documentation (requirements, functional specs, design specs) to verify system functionality.
- Prepare testing reports and coordinate testing activities across project teams.
- Mentor team members on best practices in QA processes and documentation.
- Strong background in testing vended applications.
- Experience testing mobile and web applications using Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Hands-on experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proven ability to document, maintain, and execute detailed manual test cases.
- Comfortable participating in recurring project meetings and collaborating across teams.
- Skilled in balancing and prioritizing work across several product lines in a fast-moving environment.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and proactive in closing knowledge gaps.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle as it relates to verification and validation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and common browsers.
- Strong analytical thinking, documentation skills, and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Able to work independently, make sound decisions, and contribute effectively in team-driven environments.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Able to learn applicable systems and operational practices to support product validation.
- Familiarity with Aha! project development software.
- Experience within the healthcare industry.
- Project management skills.
- Knowledge of test management tools (e.g., Quality Center).
One of the following is required:
- Bachelor's degree with training/experience in software development, software testing, or quality control, OR
- Associate's degree in a computer-related field and two (2) years of related professional experience, OR
- Six (6) years of professional experience in software development, software testing, or quality control
Preferred Certifications:
Certifications in quality or software testing, such as ISO Service Management, CSTP, or ITIL.
