Job Summary/Description

The assistant director of admissions - campus experience manages the day-to-day operations of ASU's campus visit recruitment initiatives within the office of admissions including daily campus tours, high school group tours, and recruitment events. The assistant director organizes events for a variety of prospective students and their families. The position works with ASU staff, faculty, students, and administrators to organize and execute high quality recruitment events and tours which keep ASU competitive with other institutions. The assistant director also works alongside the other members of the prospective student outreach and access departments to collaborate on recruitment initiatives.

Typical Duties/Job Duties

  1. Logistically plan, coordinate, execute, and evaluate recruitment events and other visit programs. Oversee daily tour program and group tours, ensuring a personalized and engaging experience for all visitors. Plan, coordinate, execute, and evaluate virtual tours and online events, ensuring an engaging and informative experience for prospective students.
  2. Serves as Admissions Lead in the development and implementation of the SalesForce application for event registration. Collaborate with Prospective Student Outreach & Access Communications team to review event communications.
  3. Provides support and guidance for the continued development of top-rated campus visits, recruitment events, virtual events, and marketing support for the admissions team. Collaborate with Prospective Student Outreach & Access Communications team to develop and implement strategies that promote recruitment events and campus visits.
  4. Collaborates with various campus partners to coordinate services, logistics, and presentations for recruitment events and campus visits. Manage multiple events and campus visits simultaneously. Admissions point person for cart and cart utilization. Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly service to students, academic and administrative units, and others ensuring seamless coordination of recruitment services across Angelo State University.
  5. Supervise full-time staff by providing leadership including staff professional development, goal setting, team based atmosphere, and providing timely performance feedback.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to think creatively, be visionary, and proactive in resolving problems in a collaborative effort to promote student services programs of the highest quality;
  • Knowledge of admissions requirements and procedures for institutions of higher education;
  • Knowledge of University academic programs, academic standards and co-curricular activities;
  • Knowledge of the personnel management and principles of effective training;
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices;
  • Ability to perform thorough and accurate audits of financial and operational activities and systems;
  • Ability to perform work requiring accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, including public speaking;
  • Skilled in interpersonal relations
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the University's insurance company is required. Travel with leased vehicle, including some overnight trips. Occasional use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursed.
  • Experience Requirements: At least five years experience in Student Affairs or Enrollment Management required. Preferred experience includes prior program management, recruiting experience, event management, and personnel supervision and leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree preferred.
